Your Value as a Diverse Professional: Don't Leave Your Culture Behind

I really love this article in Medium, "This ‘Equity’ picture is actually White Supremacy at work." 


I always had a problem with this picture of “equity” but I couldn’t put my finger on it. 

Especially because if you have a different vantage point as someone else, you shouldn’t be expected to change to “fit in.” Because your experiences and background count. Your style of communication. Your creativity. Your culture. 

I am more interested in how your unique gifts and talents can be highlighted. To question what you have been told. To disrupt previously held attitudes about how you should sound. And how you should look. How you should stop being you to blend in with the status-quo. 

I love hearing clients’ life stories. Where they come from. Their aspirations. Their dreams. Where they see themselves in a year. 5 years. 10 years.
